Since 1999, formal training in the Neurologic Music Therapy® (NMT™) system of standardized techniques has allowed music therapists and other allied health professionals around the world to increase their understanding of evidence-based interventions in applied music neuroscience leading to opportunities to access third party reimbursement. This manual is intended to provide practical information to assist in guiding reimbursement efforts for the NMT™ Professional Affiliate. The information can be used directly by the NMT™ professionals and/or by management personnel and facility administrators to assist in understanding the value and applicability of the NMT™ interventions in current healthcare practice.
Our Mission
The Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy® is a 501 (c) 3 organization whose mission is to disseminate, advance, and protect the practice of NMT™ worldwide and provides opportunities for continuing education in NMT™ that maintain the integrity of best practice in NMT™, and thus protect consumers of NMT™ and the public in general. All Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT)® training is provided directly through the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy®. There are no training or certification programs outside of the Academy that grant licensed permission to use the NMT™ designation or NMT™ System of Techniques.
